Cavico Power and Resource Joint Stock Company is one of the first subsidiaries of Cavico Vietnam Co., Ltd. founded in 2002 under the holding company structure. The company specializes in construction of transportation, irrigation works, civil – industrial works, power projects and investment in hydropower projects.

Previously known as Cavico Power Installation Co., Ltd., it was established on April 10, 2002. Five years after establishment, it was changed into a wholly foreign owned limited company on June 8, 2007. The company was renamed Cavico Power and Resource Joint Stock Company on August 3, 2007 due to another shift in business model.

In the period of 2003 – 2006, the company made considerable breakthroughs in business orientation when it expanded into capital construction beyond traditional fields of small scale power transmission projects. It also decided to focus on tunnel and hydropower projects for the time being with a view to improving operation and management systems and preparing for extension into other businesses.

Among few Vietnamese firms engaged in underground construction, the most complex segment in the construction industry, Cavico Power and Resource JSC. has effectively implemented the newest and most modern technologies including NATM, TBM, etc, and as a result won many investors’ and its parent company’s trust through important hydropower projects namely Bac Binh, A Luoi, Za Hung,Nam Chien 2, DakMi4, HuaNa, etc.

Throughout its years of operation, Cavico Power and Resource JSC. has reported stable growth in business results. Its revenue has surged 72.7% from VND 10.5 billion in 2002 to VND 36 billion by 2006 and is expected to reach VND 80.2 billion in 2007 which is equivalent to a 120% growing pace. Its also made a five – fold increase in chartered capital, from VND 5 billion in 2002 to VND 35 billion up to now.
